Great airport hotel A review of SpringHill Suites Charlotte Airport
We needed a hotel close to the airport as we had a very early flight. We had reserved a room at a hotel up the street (La Quinta) but when we arrived knew immediately that we couldn't stay there (I would NOT feel safe staying here, and it looked like a major dump).
We had seen the SpringHill Suites as we exited the freeway and drove over to check it out. We were concerned that it would be expensive, but we were so tired we didn't care at that point--we wanted a safe, clean place to stay and the exterior of this hotel indicated that it could meet both goals. We were really surprised at how great this hotel is, and what a value it is for what you get and compared to what they charge for neighboring hotels that are not even CLOSE to what you'd get here. We paid 84 dollars for a HUGE suite with 2 queen beds, 2 TVS, fridge, microwave, and a VERY large bathroom. (It was only 8 dollars more a night than La Qunita.) It was extremely quiet and clean. Large rooms. Beautiful indoor swimming pool that our kids loved (and had all to themselves). Comfortable beds! 2 TVs in our room (good when you're traveling with children--they can wind down by watching what they want, and you and your spouse can watch what you want on the second TV).
I agree with the previous review that the front desk person was not suited for this line of work--very unfriendly. But, my interaction with him was very limited, so his sour attititude didn't impact my stay.
We left too early in the morning to try the breakfast. This hotel is about 3 minutes from the airport... super convenient. I would stay here again without question.
