Grand Lodge...and a Grand Value A review of Radisson Hotel Bloomington by Mall of America
I made reservations for Grand Lodge for the 19th of June, I wanted to stay so our family can take advantage of the free water park passes (4), not only did we get our 4 passes for the day of our stay, but even 4 more for the next day, at $18 for a pass, we basically got $144 of free water park passes with the purchase of a room for $135, so basically the room cost was a wash.
Since there was no line, check in only took 5 minutes, the receptionist was very friendly and professional, even though check in was officially at 4PM, our room was ready at 1 PM, and we went up to the room with our luggage. After a few minutes the phone started to ring, and had no idea who was was calling us????? It turned out to be hotel staff, just checking with us, to wonder if our room was ok, which was very good.
The room not only had most of the ammendities, but actually all of them, ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave, safe, High Def TV and a fridge, It had one King size bed, a pull out sofa sleeper and bunk beds, (the kids fought over who gets top),
All the employees, yes even the maintanence crew even smiled and gave a salutation, very friendly, very clean, and constanly wiping all the galss surfaces down, and vacueming. The hotel has a shuttle going back and from the Mall of Amercia.
Waterpark: Plenty of towels to use after you got out of the waterpark, gauntlet of lifeguards, yes I wanted to horseplay, but couldn't find a unattended spot in the lazy river to do that, Even the flowmaster ride, they gave me a lesson on what to do, and for being a first timer, it was actually fun.
The only negitive thing was the prices of food, thought the prices were 2X, its basically a convience thing, you could bring your own food and store/heat them up in your room.
The value of the package, I have never EVER seen before.
