Gorgeous place A review of Cote Canal
We visited Brugge a couple of weeks ago and the Cote Canal / Huyze Hertsberge guest house was fantastic. A friend stayed in Brugge over New Year at the Hotel de Orangerie and said it was fantastic, although relatively punchy on the wallet. He met the restaurant owner of Arthies who suggested the Cote Canal and said it was just as nice but better value for money and included a more personal touch. I am very grateful for the information as the guest house was absolutely fantastic.
The building was gorgeous, I would not be surprised if it has been in 25 Beautiful Homes or Homes and Antiques magazines after the spectacular refurbishment. The location was ideal, the breakfast superb and the price was very reasonable. Caroline was more than helpful and the service was excellent. She suggested numerous brilliant restaurants, the Sans Cravate being my favourite.
Brugge is a beautiful place with lots of quality restaurants and bars, and an ideal weekend get away.
It was an excellent trip and we will definitely stay there the next time, probably in the summer as its only one of a few places with a fantastic garden backing onto the canal.
