Gorgeous Indoor Architecture A review of Embassy Suites Hotel Jacksonville - Baymeadows
I stayed here at the end of August for a business trip. I was very pleased with most all aspects of the hotel. The Mediterranean feel of the cental courtyard is absolutely beautiful. And the view from the glass elevators made the morning trips down to breakfast and to the start of the meetings so enjoyable. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The only problem was that I could not get the room to a comfortable temperature. Even when I turned the A/C off completely, it was still cold! But, since I didn't spend much time in the room, it wasn't a big deal. Just bundled up good at night. The breakfasts were great. I didn't use the restaurant (although it seemed kinda small) but did spend about an hour in the bar area one night when I just couldn't seem to wind down. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. One other minor complaint, and this is at no fault of the hotel, was that my room was on the front side of the hotel and there was roadwork being done on Baymeadows that started about 9pm each night. Kinda noisy and there were some flashing yellow/orange caution lights that made their way through the curtains. If you're planning a trip in the next week or so, I would call the hotel to see if they're still doing roadwork there, and if so, request a room towards the back of the hotel. The only other complaint would be that the side door that I used to enter and exit the hotel seemed to be the general smoking area for the hotel staff and any other guests. Being a non-smoker, it wasn't very pleasant to have to walk through the blue cloud of smoke every time I left or came back. After the 3rd time, I just started using the front entrance instead.
