Gorgeous, comfortable hotel A review of Country Inn & Suites Lancaster
We spent two nights at the Country Inn and Suites in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Our party included Mom and Dad, two children age 7 and 11 and Grandma. The suites were pretty and furnished with quality pieces that were in great condition. This was a true two room suite, with the living area and sofa bed in the front room, the bathroom and kitchennette area next, and the two queen bedroom (with door) in the back. There was plenty of room for everybody.
Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, food storage cabinet, two large tv's, a sofa and two upholestered chairs, double sinks, and a desk/table with chairs.
The cost was $179.00 per night plus 10.00 for the extra adult.
There is a large indoor pool and jacuzzi, and an outdoor playground. Lovely continental breakfast including eggs, fruits, yogurt and bakery products. They also had a children's play room with books and small tables and an adult lounge for playing games or just relaxing. The hotel is completely non-smoking, however there is a smoking lounge in the lower level.
This is one of the nicest places we have stayed in a long time. It is right in the middle of Lancaster, near the outlets and many dutch restaurants. My only complaint would be the advertised distance to Hershey Park. We thought the park was twenty minutes away. However it takes 45-60 minutes one-way to get to the park and it is about 35 miles away. If you are planning on spending most of your trip in Hershey, and especially if you have small children, it may be more convenient to find a hotel closer to the park.
Also, I think the hotel could skip the smoking lounge altogether. It smelled so bad I don't think even a smoker would want to go in there.
All in all a great experience.
