Good with Caveats A review of Hotel Indigo Atlanta
Staff is friendly and helpful. Great Midtown location, close enough to Marta, with restaurants nearby, and safe feeling for solo female traveler. Fun and eye catching decor both in lobby and rooms. Lobby has Starbucks coffee bar and full cocktail/wine bar but skip the food except maybe a snack, it is all microwaved. Free! internet access on lobby computer with free printing or copying. But, be forewarned, rooms are small and bathrooms are teeny tiny, hence the "European" descriptor used in their ads. Queen bedded room was fine for one person but two would be constantly tripping or climbing over one another, at least in my room. The decor is extremely attractive, assuming you like bold and colorful, and the bed was one of the best I've ever slept on. The shower was large and well equiped with hand held shower head and wooden bench; a drainage problem was promptly fixed. BUT, the rest is so tightly squished together that my chin risked hitting the basin while sitting down on the commode. Even 3 and 2 star European hotels I've stayed in had bigger bathrooms than this one and I'm sure men would hate it even more than I did. Intercontinental better work on this design in future locations...the concept is great but the details need work.
