Good Value, Large Rooms A review of Quality Inn & Suites Hermosa Beach
We stayed 2 nights, 22 thru 23 December, whilst on our vacation to California. After reading reviews on this site, we decided to use it as a temporary base, not wanting to be in downtown LA, in the LAX area or the expensive (and variable) Hollywood area. This way we had a pleasant Large Room at a fraction of the price of elsewhere, and no homeless bums bothering us.
We had a large 2Q bedded room at the front of the building, so unfortunatley there was some road traffic. Unfortunately the first room we checked into at the rear of the building (which was even bigger) had no window pane so it was rather chilly on the winters evening - we never found out how/why the window pain was missing but had some fun imagining how a previous guest took it with them (?). The Front desk quickly apologised and moved us to another room.
The complementary breakfast was very popular with a full choice of pastries, toast, fruit, youghurts and especially the Waffle maker. On a warm day, you can use the attached sun terrace to have a gorgeous outdoor breakfast with views of the bay. However on a cold December morning, the lack of a fully enclosed room caused a rather chilly experience.
We spent one day braving the LA freewayt system to "do" Hollywood & Universal, and another to visist the near by Beach and Pier. Road connections, Resturants and are shops are all very close.
Once again, thank you for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back.
