Good things, bad things A review of Four Points by Sheraton Bakersfield
The good: Large room, very quiet, large pool and jacuzzi (neither of which I got around to using). Polite and friendly front desk staff.
Good (although very expensive) restaurant on premises. Excellent massaging showerhead. Away from the freeway in a business area (3 miles from downtown).
The bad: (1) Room service was an illusion. The phone rang and rang.
Finally I called the front desk and was told that the same person takes the orders and delivers the food, so he was probably somewhere else. I walked to the restaurant. (2) The corridors are interior but the stairways (no elevators) are exterior. And, the stairways are not in a secure area. Women alone beware. (3) Continental breakfast was beatup Red Delicious apples, bananas, and the kind of danishes that come in factory sealed packages. (4) The hotel is old (although renovated).
Overall: Too expensive for what you get.
