Good Place A review of The Holland Hotel
I stayed at the Holland Motor lodge because of the reviews found here on Tripadvisor.
I am glad that this service exists because otherwise no one in their right mind would
stay at a motel right next to the toll plaza leading into a tunnel in Jersey City.
The rate was excellent, the staff and location as well. The gentleman at the front desk
asked me the purpose of my stay and I told him I had a job interview in Manhattan the next morning. He then proceded to give me a map of the immediate area showing me how to get to the PATH station and suggested that I make a trial run later that day so I would not get lost and be late for my interview the next day. He also gave me a timetable for the train.
The PATH station is about a 10 minute walk that was not to scary. You are basically at the edge of a very nice upscale business/high rise condo area. But I would not walk West or North of the hotel, as this is also on the edge of a seedy/industrial area.
Manhattan is two or less stops away. It took me 20 mins to get from the hotel to wall street. There is also a mall right across the street. It takes a little doing to figure out how to get in there though. Also, the light rail that takes you to Hoboken is also close. There is also a Target nearby and the parking is free to boot.
The room was clean and comfortable, although a bit dated, but who cares for $77 a stones' throw from Manhattan. And yes, you have your own private bathroom too.
