Good Option, Walking Distance to Village A review of Lake Arrowhead Resort
We stayed for a weekend.
The views vary widely, from ground floor parking lot (yuck) to upper floor views of the lake and forest. The room quality is average, with some stains on carpets and drapes and some wear and tear evident on all furniture.
The housekeeping services were good.
The coffee bar in the lobby has very poor service and limited selection of breakfast baked goods (i.e. ran out of plain bagels two days in a row by 8 am).
There is no daily newspaper delivery and it is not possible to purchase a newspaper until the gift shop opens. The papers were sitting in a pile in front of the gift shop and the front desk clerk refused to sell one to me, saying that I would need to come back in an hour.
The best part of the hotel is the location. We walked over to the Lake Arrowhead Village for an afternoon at the Children's Museum, a ride on the carousel that overlooks the lake, and good shopping at the outlets (Coach, Bass). I really like the waffle house in the village and they had a great kids menu.
One good thing about traveling to this hotel with children- they will guarantee a connecting room with two double beds.
