Good Experience A review of Marriott New York at the Brooklyn Bridge

The hotel is rated 3-1/2 stars. I paid an average of $225 per night for a one week stay. Anywhere else, I would feel it was too expensive -- but I have come to accept that NY is just an expensive city. That aside, the location was great for me. It was just 4 blks walking distance from work, and there are many subway entrances near the hotel. (Get a MTA pass, and have unlimited access to everything.) The surrounding neighborhood is abandoned after dark; but it is safe to walk around as long as you keep your wits about you. In the evening, security asks to see room key before you enter the elevators to the rooms. The elevators are fast. The landings are large; the hallways are wide; everything is well lighted and clean. My room was well maintained on a daily basis. Note: try the hotel's ARCHIVES restaurant -- a surprisingly good value. The hotel is also within walking distance to JUNIOR's restaurant (can you say "cheesecake" with a grin?)
