Good experience! A review of Alma Hotel
Just spent five nights at the Alma Grand Palace and can definitely recommend it. The previous review covers it well. In short: very clean, conveniently central, rooms spacious, staff very helpful, breakfast relaxed and plentiful. And all at very reasonable rates. We were 77euros a room for the room and breakfasts. What more could you want? We had to ask advice about the heating system and also the TV controls and both times the receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very close to the station, if you know where to go! We got lost the first time. The best way: exit the station by the main entrance, use the zebra crossing and go through the archway (between the Meridian Hotel and the Citibank) and continue straight ahead. You'll see the Royal Windsor Hotel on your right. Turn right immediately past the Royal Windsor and down the hill. At the bottom turn left and the Alma is almost immediately on your left.) That way is best as it avoids some of the cobbles if you have trolley luggage and literally takes just minutes. We would certainly return there. It's not plush or flowery but definitely better than basic.
