Good choice A review of Courtyard Prague Flora
Courtyard Marriott Prague is a newly built hotel nicely located 3/ or 4 metro stops from the city center.
We arrived at the hotel very early in the morning and after a speedy check-in by a polite staff member we were informed that our room would be available at 12.00.
During this waiting period we decided to visit the Flora Palac mall which is located across the street. The mall offers very limited choice of quality goods, a couple of good cafes and a typical food court where you can have lunch or dinner at places like KFC,MacDonalds,Nordsee(fish and chips), and other average, but very cheap fast foods joints, offering a wide range of chinese food ,thai-spice,pizza,gyros etc.
The Flora metro stop is located beneath the main gate of the mall and from there you can be in center of Prague in 5 minutes.
A smart alternative to the gloomy Prague metro is to take the tram.
The tram stop is across the main gate of Flora Palac and downtown direction is on your right hand, tram line # 5-11 & 26.
There is nothing exciting around the hotel neighborhood.
For those of you who have not experienced Eastern Europe before the fall of the Iron curtain, you can come close, by taking a stroll around the hotel and into dim-lit streets with uninspiring window shops and a few small pubs where the locals gather.
Back to hotel itself the main clientele consists of typical groups of Japanese, Spaniards, Italians, Greeks and few Americans.
The small lobby is close to the typical and expensive restaurant and bar.For your convinience there is a mini-market next to the bar but with prices slightly higher that the super-market across the Flora mall.
The superior room is very clean and large indeed with basic bathroom amenities but few towels.
In the room there is a sofa too.
Breakfast was adequate but nothing exciting.
At the Courtyard Marriott Prague you can get value for money rate for standard accomodation and this is music to the ears of budget travellers in city where downtown hotels charge much for a lot less.
