Good Choice in Redding A review of Hampton Inn & Suites

Traveling north from Southern California in winter, I knew that Redding was a logical place to stop for the night before tackling the mountain driving on ice and snow in the morning. The Tripadvisor reviews prompted me to stop at this Hampton Inn. The reviews were right on.

The Hampton Inn was a beautiful, new, clean property. The small business center with internet access enabled me to check road conditions and send e-mails. The front desk staff were also constantly updating and posting chain requirements and road conditions for I-5.

The room had an elegant bathroom with granite counter and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet had excellent, fresh doughnuts, eggs, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, fruit salad, yogurt, cereal and plenty of tables.

The only downside to this location was that there were no restaurants in walking distance. But with a bit of driving I located a nearby mall with an Outback Steakhouse.

As roadside motels go, this is a 'stay again' the next time I'm traveling north on I-5.
