Go There Every Year A review of Paniolo Greens Resort
The island of Hawaii is pretty much divided into two distinct climates. The East side (Hilo side)is tropical with abundant rainfall and the West side (Kona side) only receives around twelve inches of rain annually. Paniolo Greens is located on the West side about twenty miles North and a little bit East of Kona. The resort is about five miles inland, but this area North of Kona has far better beaches. The elevation is about 1,000 feet which affords a cooler temperature. The Trade Winds are funneled between two volcanos providing an almost constant breeze. We've stayed at Paniolo Greens seven consecutive years and have no complaints whatsoever. The units are very clean, well equiped and the staff is attentive. The village shopping area is less than 1/4 mile away, but the grocery store is a bit pricy. Supplies and groceries are more reasonably purchased during a trip into Kona. We love to talk about and share accumulated information concerning our trips, so any questions are welcome.
