Gem in Downtown Lancasterr A review of Lancaster Arts Hotel
We recently stayed in a Loft Suite at the brand-new Lancaster Arts Hotel. We are from the area, but just needed a little weekend getaway for two. The artistic decor in the common areas and our room was amazing! All local artists! It is obvious from the moment you walk in that a lot of thought and care were put into making this building what it is today. Our suite was large and most of the furniture was hand-made in Lancaster County. We were impressed with the quality of linens, towels, and other items in our room. It was not your typical hotel! We had two flat screen tv's which could also provide internet access and a lovely jacuzzi. Staff was very pleasant and helpful; they made us feel right at home. Free continental breakfast was provided. Pastries from a local bakery, yogurt from a Lancaster Co. Dairy, and tea from a local tea shop were pleasant surprises. There is a restaurant on site whose menu features local products and all-organic fare. There are also two nice Italian restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel is in an old section of Lancaster City where many of the old tobacco warehouses are being converted into offices, condos, shops, and restaurants. It's a very safe section of town, and it was also very quiet. We didn't hear any traffic, unlike most of the hotels along Rt. 30. Parking for the hotel is free in there own parking garage. While not right in the "Amish" area, the Lancaster Arts Hotel is only 10-15 minutes away, and you will have a much nicer stay than in any of the chain motels on Route 30. If you want a relaxing and luxurious experience and a place to truely unwind, then Lancaster Arts Hotel is for you! It is NYC luxury without the NYC price!
