Fun Weekend A review of Mt. Haven Resort & Restaurant
We stayed in one of the dream cottages at Mt. Haven on October 8 and 9th, 2005.
Like a few previous posters have mentioned-The check-in was a bit difficult to find as it was inside the restaurant and we did not know this.
We stayed in one of the dream cottages. The room was big and had a "mountain feel" to it and I have to say the furniture was very nice. The rugs are indoor/out door type. We loved the gas fireplace but it got too warm at times and we had to keep turning it off. It was a typical mountain cabin-Very cozy and comfortable. My only minor complaint is that while we had a table and chairs in the room, a comfortable sofa or couple of upholstered chairs would have been nice to relax in.
Bathroom was a bit strange to me-Had a very nice heart shaped Jacuzzi tub-Very clean. But the walls had carpet on them!!! And the lighting could have been a lot better. But everything was clean and worked great. I got used to the carpet on the walls.
It was pouring buckets of rain when we arrived Sat-We were so grateful to just sit in the Jacuzzi and drink champagne.
They have a restaurant on-site and I can not say enough good things about the food and the staff. We were on the VIP + meal plan, so our meals and drinks were included. The food was outstanding at every meal. And the waitresses and waiters were very friendly and attentive. It seemed to be a popular local restaurant as a lot of the people were families that seemed to know everyone.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider returning again.
