Fun Family Time at Carribean Cove A review of Caribbean Cove Hotel & Conference Center
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Select by the Pyramids over the Presidents' Day Weekend (Feb 17-21) with our daughters (ages 12 & 7). Our smallish room had two double beds. There was a nice sized balcony overlooking the indoor pool where three of us could sit with plenty of room to spare. We had a coffee maker, but no fridge. The room was clean, but it showed signs of aging (especially in the bathroom). The lighting in the room was horrible--bring your own light if you plan on reading in the room! We had a great rate ($139 including $10/day/adult for meals...kids eat free in the restaurant). We used room service for several meals (their menu selections were very diverse) and it was always excellant (way above average for Holiday Inns) and promptly delivered. The only reason we stayed at this property (we usually stay downtown when visiting Indy) was because of the Carribean Cove waterpark which just opened there. We have been to other indoor waterparks in Wisconsin and Ohio. While this one is not comparable to the Dells' Kalahari (which is much larger) for example, it was fun. The only problem is that Sunday through Thursday the hotel allows birthday party groups to come in and use the park. Thursday and Sunday nights were VERY crowded. While we will consider returning, my main concern is that the hotel property will get run-down quickly with all the additional traffic generated by the waterpark.
