Friendly helpful staff A review of Fredericksburg Inn & Suites
Our family had reserved three rooms for the weekend of March 17th. Each room was a different size...one king, one double queen, and one family suite (king bed in the private bedroom with queen sleeper in the living room). All rooms were larger than the typical hotel. The decor was updated, and the rooms exceptionally clean. Each room had a mini fridge and microwave. The hotel has two outdoor pools (one heated, one unheated), an outdoor hottub with a fireplace and television. Even though the weekend was cool and rainy (very needed in Texas), the kids had a great time in the heated pool. Because of a statewide "burn ban" the fireplace could not be used. However, when it is available, they provide smores kits for any guests. I agree with the others that the breakfast area is indeed small, but the choices are good. Along with the traditional items, muffins, waffles, cereal, etc., they have some delicious sausage rolls that are from a local bakery. Our bunch really enjoyed the complimentary soft drinks that are available from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. When you travel with kids, alot is spent on drinks from vending machines. The complimentary beverages were a plus. The staff is some of the best that I have ever met at any hotel or inn. Everyone we talked with was extremely helpful.
The hotels grounds are very pretty and have plenty of room to play outside including a small playground for the kids. The creek that runs alongside the property is quite beautiful. The hotel sits two blocks off of the main street where all the shopping and museums are. There are also several restaurants well within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. So much in fact, that we have already made our reservations for the summer.
Even though you can find less expensive rooms in Fredericksburg, the little extras that this hotel has is definitely worth the little extra cost.
