Four poster luxury A review of The Lakehouse, Cameron Highlands

Having driven from Kuala Lumpar, stopping off at Fraser's Hill on the way[which I would recommend giving a miss as it feels as if it has had its day and was very run down] the Lakehouse was just what we needed. The manager Krishna welcomed us warmly and for an unknown reason we were upgraded to a junior suite. The room was very spacious, had a lovely four poster bed, huge bathroom and fruit laid out for us.Being in such a quiet area you do feel slightly at the hotels mercy regarding food and drinks which we found to be on the expensive side and if i travel all the way to Malaysia I dont really want traditional English fayre.Unlike the previous reviewer we did eat locally-when leaving the hotel, turn left and about five minutes down the road on the right hand side is what looks like shop units. We found a little indian restaurant and the owner gave us a lovely selection of food to try.Our meals for two and four beers cost less than a main course at the hotel. However if cost is not an issue the hotel restaurant did look very appealling.

Our room looked out towards the front of the hotel and there was definately a lake there!

Would like to have stayed longer.
