Food, food, food A review of Eaglewood Resort & Spa Chicago
I was at the hotel for a corporate event. The room was large and clean. I liked the fact that the sink/vanity area was outside the bathroom. There was no safe or refrigerator.
The hotel had a buffet restaurant and a standard restaurant with portions that were so large my husband and I were able to share our meal (after the first night) when we realized how large the portions were. After buffet lunch there was not much room for a large dinner. Meals were reasonably priced.
The hotel provided a shuttle to the Metra station which my husband used to go into Chicago while I was at meetings. They would also take you to the local mall. He called to let them know when he needed to be picked up and they were there within a few minutes.
Golf is very reasonable-40 something dollars with cart. There is a special in the evening that includes clubs that is less than $30.
The indoor pool and indoor whirlpool were nice, but in another building. I cannot see using these in the winter. I often like to use the whirlpool when I wake up early, and the fact that it was in another building limited the number of times I used them. (And we were in the first tower on the ground floor which was closest to the door to the walkway to the other building).
I did not use the spa. There was a group bowling party which was a lot of fun. Also ping pong and billiards as well as a small game room.
All in all I felt this was a good value for the money. My husband was able to play golf and enjoy the city. We did not have the hassle of driving and the high Chicago rental car fees.
