First and last time. A review of Marriott Indianapolis Downtown
Stayed one night at the Marriott. Upon arrival, we were told by the valet staff that the parking structure was full and that we would have to use the valet service at $21 per night. Checked in and received a smoking room, although we had requested non-smoking. Front desk person told us that since we were on a "group rate" and didn't pay full price, nothing could be done. Tried leaving the door to the room open for a while, but the smoke from the hallway was just as bad. Asked for a late checkout (at this point I didn't have much confidence, and the Marriott didn't let me down) I was told late checkout was not permitted unless we paid $40 for a 3 hour extension. I don't have high requirements when I stay at hotels. In my opinion the Marriott made no attempt to make our stay enjoyable. There are simply much better options in downtown Indianapolis for less money.
