Fine time at the Holiday Inn A review of Holiday Inn Pittsburgh University Center
We just stayed here a few days ago, while visiting the University of Pittsburgh. The location could not have been better! The lobby was nice, and staff was very friendly although occasionally incompetent. The free shuttle service to the bridge across from PNC Park was an added bonus, as we wanted to take in a game but were slightly befuddled as to how to get there.
The room was adequate, but nothing to write home about. We did not sample the breakfast, although it looked a little over-priced for the quality of food (the reason we were deterred).
We did get a discount rate through the University, as well as free parking. Paying full price for a night at this Holiday Inn, as well as over 16 dollars a day to park is not worth it. However, if you are visiting the University there are not many other choices for hotels. Until a better hotel opens up or is built, this is the place to stay when visiting Oakland, Carnegie Mellon or the University of Pittsburgh!
