Fine beltway choice A review of Marriott Crystal Gateway
Crystal Gateway is a first-rate Marriott in a great location close to the national capital and National Airport.
The hotel has 700 rooms in two towers. The lobby is understated and elegant, and a great place to lounge.
Rooms are plenty big with elegant (if somewhat bland) furniture. The rooms are the typical upscale taupe overload, with good furniture and very comfortable beds. The bathrooms are huge with the Neutrogena bath products typical of Marriotts.
The hotel restaurants are fine, as is room service.
The hotel is right in Crystal City, and is connected to the Crystal City Metro station and the Crystal City shopping center by an underground passageway.
Crystal Gateway is closer to the national Mall and central DC than many hotels in DC (about 3 metro stops away on the Yellow line). The Crystal City area isn't particularly interesting, but there are some good restaurants around the hotel. Also, the Pentagon City shopping center is one metro stop away.
