Fiji Hilton A review of Fiji Beach Resort & Spa Managed by Hilton
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the Fiji Hilton during the end of August. It was the first holiday the two of us had had together for 4 years, and was planned as a romantic birthday/anniversary celebration.
We had read the dodgy review on tripadvisor and had considered changing our booking to another hotel, but our travel agent assured us that all was ok, so we went as planned - and boy were we glad that we did.
We where met at the airport then driven to the hotel where we were greeted with a tropical drink and vanilla scented wash cloth at reception.
The hotel is very chic, with a clean, tropical, classy feel. The staff are AMAZING and so friendly. The rooms are lovely, and sure, some of the tiling in the bathroom was a little bit messy (remember Fiji is a 3rd world country), and the adjoining door to the next door room didn't lock (the room was left empty our entire stay), the views from the balcony where superb, the bed incredibly luxurious, the bath deep and the overall design very very stylish.
Nuku, the only restaurant in the hotel has the pool on 3 sides and the beach on the other. The kitchen is open plan and all the food is served via buffet. The food is fresh and plentiful and although not fantastic, is yummy and interesting enough. I must say though by the end of our stay, I was looking forward to eating somewhere else.
Rooms service is good and quick.
Drinks and food seem like standard Hilton prices ie: cocktails by the pool cost $15 fiji each.
Day trips can be organised at the front desk. We did a day trip to Treasure Island and loved the snorkeling and would highly recommend doing the half day highland village tour as well.
Would also suggest hiring a car for a day and checking out the villages along Queens Rd. The markets at Lautoka are well worth a look.
I definitely recommend the Hilton, and from what I could see during a walk along the beach, think it is the most stylish hotel on Denarau Island.
