Felt like we'd been ripped off A review of Actons Hotel

The hotel itself is in a good location, has a good size car park and a lovely leisure facility. I can't comment on the restaurant but the breakfasts were ok, nothing fantastic. There's a heated serving unit which one member of the hotel staff serves you from and if there are a few people waiting it takes some time.

I paid for a harbour front room as it was a special occasion which cost £320 approx for two people for two nights, I'd consider this to be expensive but was willing to pay because I thought the rooms and hotel looked so nice on the web site. THE WEB SITE PICTURES ARE VERY DECEIVING.

The reception was very nice but that's where it stopped. The carpets were shabby, the decorating was very shabby especially in the hallways and it continued into the bedrooms. The decor & furniture in the bedroom was very plain and cheap looking, in fact I can honestly say I have stayed in a better Travel Lodge. The bathroom had a bad case of mould all around the bath and shower area and the shower, well I could have got wetter if I'd had my boyfriend throwing tap water at me from the hand basin.

Overall I think Actons need to spend some money on decorating, furnishings and get some decent power showers PLEASE!!!!! I would have expected to pay around £100 per night at the most for the level of accommodation. Very, very disappointed indeed!!
