Fantastic rooms on 6th floor A review of Courtyard By Marriott Brussels

Booked through Ebookers, just £38 per night.

Travelling with an infant.

Hotel is difficult to find as the map supplied was a bit misleading, but they offer a free shuttle from the airport [wish I had known that beforehand!] and the shuttle is just 5 euros to go back to the airport - but it doesn't run on a sunday before 3.30pm so bear in mind if you're planning a weekend trip.

But room was EXCELLENT!!!! We were on the 6th floor with a window that took up the entire wall and fantastic views. The room was extremely spacious, even with a cot and pushchair and all the other baby clutter. It was also very child safe as the furniture and fixtures were very solid and I could let the little one crawl around quite happily.

No swimming pool :( but a very nice fitness room and sauna.

Downside was the restaurant, dinner was particularly average and service was quite inattentive. The breakfast buffet was good. Also the hotel was very European in that despite having a no smoking section to the restaurant we were still subjected to heavy cigar smoke from the bar, which the waiter just shrugged off as 'the way things are in Belgium'.

All in all, an excellent value stay just outside of the city centre.
