Fantastic place to stay A review of Hotel Residence Retezova
We have just returned from a 3-night stay in Prague, hosted by Residence Retezova. The accommodation was fantastic - on a quiet side street, in the centre of everything close to the Old Town. Wenceslas Square was 10 min walk, Old Town Square 5 mins, Charles Bridge 5 mins. Small, boutique hotel with apartment-style self catering rooms (i.e. the room had small kitchenette with everything you could have needed for a short stay, including minibar, glasses, plates, bottle opener etc etc). Satellite TV. HUGE bed - we stayed in Madrid Room (# 5 I believe), and the staff were so friendly, could not do enough for us. Organised our transfers to and from the airport, which meant that within 1 hour of landing, we were out at a local bar having a glass of wine! Within the hotel building itself, at street level, there is a beautiful cafe - Cafe Ebel - which does wonderful continental breakfasts, excellent lunches & delicious cakes. Right across the street, Cafe Ethno was great for drnks later in the evening - very chilled out & excellent service also. None of the places we went to were overrun by stag parties, which seemed to be the case in many other places (one of the few downsides). We will definitely be back!!
