Fantastic hotel! A review of Warwick Fiji Resort & Spa
After reading the previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive about staying at the Warwick. It was our first stop on a round the world trip, and after travelling for over 24 hours, we wanted to stop somewhere relaxing for a few days to get over our jetlag.
We arrived at sunset, and the views from the reception were breathtaking - it was like being in paradise! Unfortunately, all the beach view rooms were booked, but our room overlooked the mountains and was clean, big and very comfortable.
The staff at the hotel are so friendly - everyone says 'Bula' (the Fijian 'Hello') as they walk past. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from - the Wicked Walu on its own island was fantastic, as was the Italian. The breakfasts were great - you just help yourself to a huge selection of food.
The only downside to the hotel is its distance from the airport / where trips to the islands start. It takes about one and a half to two hours each way to Nadi - which becomes quite a drag after you've done the trip a few times!
My advise is to ignore the previous bad reviews - if you stop at the Warwick Fiji, you'll have a wonderful, relaxing break.
