Fantastic hotel A review of King Charles Boutique Hotel Residence

we have just returned from a 4 day trip to prague and stopped for 3 nights at the king charles which is located under the walls of vysehrad castle .

this was a fantastic hotel with very spacious bedrooms which for a very reasonable €3 for 24 hours you could have the use of a pc in your room great for keeping in touch with folks at home as well as lcd tv in your room.

the staff were very pleasant and helpful. a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you are at vysehrad castle with mind numbing views over the city.

we used the 18 tram to go to old town and 24 to wenceslas square and found it to be a quick and easy way to get about with a 3 day pass costing just 220 csk crowns or £5.50 each we paid 400 crowns for a taxi to the old town so over the 3 days the tram tickets are a bargain.

outside the hotel was a bar with a pint of beer costing just 18 crowns a pint and very nice it was friendly staff and their meals were nice and well priced.

we loved the charles bridge with the vibrancy and atmosphere and will be back sooner rather than later.

old town square was a great night out but watch for the conmen who will offer you a very high exchange rate and then give you worthless currency. we were approached once but did not take him up on his "very good offer".

if you are changing money use atm or exchange booths

overall prague surprised me and i am still in awe of it we must return as there is so much of it left to see

it really is a must do

go and enjoy
