Fantastic Hotel, Great Value A review of Andel's Hotel & Suites Prague
You can't help but love Andels. From the beaming smiles on the concierges' faces, to the elegant rooms, they've got the art of hospitality down to a tee.Our room was ?55 a night, and was beautifully decorated in muted beiges and browns. The bed was king-size, well-sprung and had crisp, fresh cotton sheets. The bathrooms contain both a bath and a walk-in shower, which is handy if there are two of you getting ready in a hurry. The TV has cable, although the predominance of German channels was a letdown to this Brit. The morning breakfast buffet is delicious, with a huge range of hot and cold items, including enough varieties of bread to keep the bakers of Prague busy all night.Whilst you're about a 15-minute walk away from the old town, the hotel just a couple of minutes walk from a Metro stop that will take you into the centre. Alternatively, you can walk 10 minutes to the funicular, which allows a walk to the Castle whilst taking in the stunning views from above.Andels is highly recommended, but comes with one word of caution. The new shopping centre nearby attracts a lot of street drinkers, particularly at night. We were never approached (they seem to be too busy getting on with business of drinking), but their presence can be slightly off-putting.
