Fantastic - but pack some ear plugs!!! A review of Wyck Hill House Hotel & Spa
My Husband and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend at Wyck Hill House. The house and grounds are stunning, the staff pleasant and helpful and the food delicious. Wyck Hill House is ideal for touring the Cotswolds. Our room which was in the main building and overlooked fields as far as the eye could see was spacious and clean, though we felt some of the furniture was looking rather tired and could do with some updating. The bathroom was very nice indeed and the bed was large enough to play hide and seek in! It was lovely to lie in bed in the morning watching the sun rise through the big windows. The restaurant was fantastic and served up some great food (though at £100 for three courses with wine, you expect it to be). The only thing which spoiled our stay at this hotel was the noise on the Saturday night. We were unable to get to sleep till after 3am due to a group of people "celebrating" in the bar. Unfortunately, it seems that noise travels extremely well in such an old building. Feeling tired and frustrated at 1am, I telephoned reception to alert them to this problem though it did not make any difference - hence we did not get to sleep till this group of people had retired for the evening. Fortunately the Sunday evening was lovely and peaceful and all slept soundly. We would stay at Wyck Hill House again, though would definitely pack some ear plugs just in case and would advise potential guests to do the same. We have stayed in many hotels and Wyck Hill House has been one of the best - try it!!!
