Fabulous! A review of Arcadia Residence
After many friendly informative email's between myself and Pasquale (proprietor of Arcadia Residence) we landed earlier than expected at the airport and where greeted by a lovely lady who showed us to our transfer vehicle - a Mercedes!
We then had a mini tour of the city which was a nice surprise. We arrived at Arcadia Residence feeling relaxed and refreshed.
We were greeted by Pasquale, showed to our lovely room and given lots of helpful information and advice. I didn't have to lug my case anywhere at anytime! The lift is delightful, an unusual design.
The room was excellent, comfortable, modern yet has charm and style. The two bedrooms were roomy, the skylights were fabulous, beds very comfy, powershower was smallish but great and there was always hot water, kitchenette well equipped, the balcony was a nice surprise, it even had a view of the castle in the distance.
Breakfast could be ordered for anytime you liked up to 1pm, it consisted of breads, sweets, fruit, yoghurt, jams, cheeses & cold meats, tea, coffee, juices, and the omelets were great.
Arcadia Residence has everything you need to get started exploring Prague. Pasquale help us with travel/tram tickets, gave us so much good advice, recommended places to go, things to see, best shops nearby etc. He gave us a guide book, tram timetables and even took us up into the old fortress that is just behind the hotel and showed us the best way to the best view of the river! He is very knowledgeable and always has a warm smile and good advice at hand!
The area that surrounds Arcadia Residence is safe, clean and quiet. The Fortress is well worth a visit as the views are great and the old churchyard is a must to see, it is right on the doorstep, just 3 mins walk. We found a fabulous little bar on the next street to the hotel, the service was great and the food was fabulous, and so cheap, pint of beer was about 65p.
There are 2 tram stops about 5mins walk away that take you direct into the centre, they are cheap, quick and safe. Also there are two mini supermarkets nearby where you can get any essentials. There are also a few bars/restaurants and we found them all friendly, excellent prices and all had loads of atmosphere which some of the more central bars lacked.
All in all we had the most amazing time, and wouldn't hesitate to go back to Arcadia Residence. We got engaged while in Prague and it was also my fiances birthday, Pasquale gave us gifts of wine and chocolates to congratulate us. He even gave us a postcard of the landmark where my fiance proposed!
The whole experience had a personal touch, style, luxury and class. Definitely a 5* hotel and service but at 3* prices. We will definitely return.
