Fabulous time A review of InterContinental Thalasso-Spa Bora Bora
All those worried about the Intercontinental Resort and Thalasso Spa, don't be. It is truly magnificent. The rooms are incredible. They are huge, exactly like you see in the pictures. The concierge service was second to none. Work with Jerome, he is very helpful and speaks very good English (have never had better concierge service). The hotel grounds are very nice, still a work in progress, but coming along well. My wife and I thought the food was good, a nice sized menu with lots of options. The service was good. I think everyone needs to realize that you are on Tahiti time and everything is not so rushed. We had our good nights and our bad nights but overall they did a good job. It was a 'soft opening' and we did get an extra discount so I can't complain. I am fairly laid back as well so some people may have a little more issue with the service than I, but I didn't go to Bora Bora for exceptional service, I went because it is paradise and a place to relax. We were there for six nights in one of the Diamond bungalows. The room was gorgeous and had an incredible view, but if I was to recommend anything, I would suggest going with the middle level as they still are private, have a decent view, and a lot less walking. There is really not much coral around the hotel as of yet and that was really the only let down, especially after coming from the Sheraton in Moorea. The only negative thing I have to say about the resort was due to the construction, I believe, the sand in the water just off the beach is very silty and when you step in your feet kind of sink and feel slimy. Hopefully that will change over time, but we did most of our swimming right off our bungalow so it really didn't matter. We had no problems with noise at all from the construction. I was very impressed and would recommend the hotel to everyone.
