We stayed at the Harbor Inn Feb 2005 as part of the Rick Steves ETBD Reunion weekend. The folks at the hotel are just the best! Friendly, they had time to give suggestions and directions, they offer 24 hour desk services and they serve excellent coffees 24/7. Also, a plate of cookies and a basket of what we assume were local apples, just made for a homey feeling. The lobby is like a nice lodge living room, complete with a fireplace (it's gas logs, but warm and homey nonetheless) and newspapers and magazines. It was a festive atmosphere, and an inviting room.

The rate is absolutely phenomenally reasonable, and included a light breakfast that gave us a great start to a great day.

The rooms are well appointed, and nice and quiet. Everything in the room worked; and the bathroom was especially nice and inviting.

The linens were in good shape, the pillows fluffy, just a great weekend any way you look at it.

And, if all this isn't enough, we received a nice handwritten note from the general manager thanking us for our stay. I don't think that happens very often in the USA!

For the tourist, this is THE place; the staff is extremely knowledgeable about the area and the attractions and spent a lot of time giving out information. There is also internet access available, but it's just too scenic to need it. There are several FABULOUS restaurants nearby. Not quite within walking distance in winter, but a short ride. There is Claire's for lunch and Arnie's for dinner. Just delightful. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
