Extremely Disappointed A review of Hartstone Inn & Hideaway
My husband and I have stayed at close to 100 different B&Bs; the Hartsone was probably the priciest and comes in next to last place on our list (last place being in Colorado years ago when the inn's plumbing froze and the innkeeper insinuated it was our fault)! Our room at the Hartstone was so crowded that it should have been for a single bed rather than two. The pocket door was off its track, and the fireplace didn't work. The scissors in the room were nice, as was the wooden roller back massager, but the guest book needs to be edited for offensive comments so the next guests in the room aren't put off by its contents. Worst of all was the hospitality! The administrative assistant welcomed us warmly and left for the weekend. The owners never introduced themselves or engaged us in conversation at all. After two nights there, they had to ask us our name when we were checking out. We can put up with a lot if we feel welcome, but if a warm welcome is what you are looking for, keep looking! This isn't the place. Try The Maples in Bar Harbor, Maine. It's the best ever!
