Excellent Value A review of Mt. Haven Resort & Restaurant
This was our second stay at Mt. Haven. We rented one of the cabins this time (last time we booked one of the Villas) from June 27th to July 1st. Although it's not the Ritz, we had a wonderful stay and the value was great. The room was large. We had a screened in porch, which we used mostly in the morning and at night (without worrying about being attacked by the bugs). The bathroom was very large with a whirlpool tub. There was also a gas fireplace within the room that we didn't use since it was summertime.
The few minor details that bothered me was that the bathroom could have had more lighting and there was no hair dryer and no iron & board.
We opted for the VIP plan and stayed from Monday-Thursday (since our stay was during the week and in June we received an extra night LODGING ONLY free!), which included breakfast and dinner - except for the one free night. It was nice knowing we could walk down to the restaurant and eat and not drive and not have to decide where to go for our meals. Dinner includes a huge salad bar and pasta station with your entree and ice cream for dessert (if you can find room to fit it). Since our cabin included a refrigerator we were able to take our leftovers to our room to enjoy later on the porch. We even saw a small bear outside our cabin on our last night.
