Excellent hotel, great location A review of Boutique Hotel Jalta
My fiance and I stayed at the Jalta in December 2003 for New Years Eve. We found the room to be very comfortable and clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and there was everything you could possibly want to eat from the buffet-style breakfast, although we did find breakfast was a little too early when you're trying to have a relaxing break (we missed it completely on one occasion!).
At the time of booking, the hotel advertised a Japanese style restaurant but this was no longer available. However, the restaurant that was there was excellent and, if anything, we thought under-priced for what we were getting!! We ate there every night because we felt it was pointless spending valuable time and effort trying to find anywhere better.
The hotel is excellently located on Wenceslas Square which was within easy walking distance to all the major sights. On New Years Eve the locals have their own "fireworks display" in both Wenceslas Square and the Old Town Square, which is great fun but not for the faint-hearted!!
Prague is a beautiful city and, due to the hotels location, we managed to see everything we wanted in one long weekend on foot. I didn't think that Wenceslas Square was a 'seedy' area, but as with most cities please be aware of pickpockets, especially around Charles Bridge.
All in all, we would definitely stay at the Jalta again.
