Excellent for family travel! A review of Marriott Grand Residence Club Tahoe
We stayed in a 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite and loved it. The suite was huge, with a very comfortable living room with fold-out couch, dining room, full kitchen with granite countertops and every appliance you could want, two good-sized bedrooms with queen beds, and two full bathrooms (one of which had a jacuzzi tub). Paid $270 a night. We stayed in the room with my inlaws and our baby daughter, and the five of us fit very comfortably. It was an ideal set-up with a baby, because we had plenty of floor space for her to play, and at night and naptime we could put her in the bedroom to sleep while we ate, watched TV, etc.
The service was excellent. From the moment we pulled up, everyone who worked there went out of their way to make us happy. When we requested extra supplies for the room, they were brought up quickly and cheerfully. We especially loved getting extra shampoo, lotion etc, which are all from Bath and Body Works. Nice stuff!
It's true that there's no room service, but there are a number of local restaurants that deliver to the hotel. We tried two of them and had great meals in our room. We also ran across the street to the market to stock up on breakfast items and snacks to store in the kitchen.
There was construction going on, but we never noticed any noise or mess. It was handled quite discreetly.
The location is fabulous. You can walk to many darling shops and restaurants, as well as the casinos and the lake itself. We hardly used the car while we were there since we could just pop the baby in the stroller and walk almost everywhere we wanted to go.
They do push the timeshare sales a bit much, but we weren't particularly annoyed. Hey, if they want to give us free breakfast and ask us to look at some pamphlets, it's worth it. The breakfast was pretty good!
Obviously I am a big fan. We plan to visit again next year and request the same suite!
