Excellent city hotel to visit with the kids! A review of Novotel Brussels Centre
This was a great weekend stay. We went with our boys (9 & 4) and were constantly surprised at just how central the hotel was. There is absolutely no shabbiness to be found anywhere in the hotel, a definite plus in Europe, and the rock swimming pool, steamroom(s) (haman's) were a great touch as we were out the door by 9a.m. and didn't return until around 4 or 5 p.m. each day. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was more than enough if you're into great breads, cheeses, fresh fruit etc. The english breakfast, or their version of it, I don't think I'd recommend as very good.
Everything is 5-10 minutes walking distance from the hotel and if you're looking for a wonderful area to have a coffee or lunch outside, then go to the St. Gery. There are 3 -5 bars on the corners and they're all good.
Also, we highly recommend a visit to the Comic Strip Museum. Not much to see for the very young, but kids between 8 and 16 should like it very much. The War museum in the Jubelpark is also very interesting with lots of tanks, swords and stuff. The boys loved it and admission was free!
We're definitely going to back to Brussels for another weekend, with or without the boys.
