Everything you could need! A review of Apartments Casablanca
These self catering apartments contain all that you would need for a holiday. The kitchen comes with a microwave, full oven, plates, cutlery (inc bottle opener), glasses, knives and even washing up liquid with a tea towel and scourer provided.
The receptionists are very helpful and there is some entertainment in the evenings but it is worth venturing out into the town at night. They have a fairly large pool but the nearest beach is a 25min walk away on the other side of town. (This is very close to Loro Parc, a large zoo that is definitely worth a visit).
Tenerife is cooler up in the north so it can sometimes be cloudy in Puerto de la Cruz but this means it has the advantage of lush gardens all around the town and is therefore much prettier than the south. It is also very hilly so be warned, there are over 100 steps from the hotel to the town or the nearest large supermarket!
If you want to experience real spanish atmosphere head for the square in the centre of town in the evenings. There are lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from.
The Canary Islands are still very warm in the winter but can get a bit chilly in the evening so remember to pack a few nice wraps or cardigans. Also the tourists are often slightly older and we sometimes felt like the youngest couple on the trips but it didn't bother us.
A lovely restful week definitely worth visiting.
