Everyone thought my choice was brilliant!! A review of The Tamarind Club
In addition to the sailing part of our March 2004 charter adventure in the BVIs, I wanted our two night vacation wind-down to be perfect.
Well, the Tamarind Club didn't let us down. Seven hot and sweaty Canadian sailors arrived in the afternoon at the Tamarind and were promptly presented with a free rum punch and a wonderful greeting from the owner Dawn and her staff. Over the next two days we swam, read, explored, drank and ate extremely and, perhaps, too well. Most important of all, we felt relaxed and at home. We met lots of other sailors and locals around the bar; kidded with Mo the chef (a fellowCanadian)and Lydia the excellent waitress; and reminsced about our perfect seven day catamaran charter. This is about as laid back and welcoming a small resort as I can imagine. We loved its funky rooms and slightly faded Caribbean elegance. What grabs a traveller about a hotel depends on their personal style. This bunch of baby boomers found that it fitted ours perfectly. Hope to be back there in January 2005 for a couple of more nights!
