Every bit as fabulous as we'd hoped A review of Chateau Marmont
After many trips to LA we eventually got to stay at Chateau Marmont in June 04.
Things got off to a good start when we were upgraded from the 1 bed cottage we booked to a 2 bed suite, complete with kitchen, dining room, enormous sitting room, balcony and bathrobes to die for!
Our five year old didn't get chastised when he practised his bomb dives in the pool - in fact the staff were really friendly and welcoming throughout.
The prices at the pool bar were rather extortionate - but in the grand scheme of things - who cares?
Bar Marmont was great fun and surprisingly unintimidating, though the food wasn't really up to much.
As for the hotel - this is the place to stay if you want to bathe in history and atmosphere. Shabby chic dominates, so if you want ultra modern you'll be much better off up the road at the mondrian.
As for us, we won't ever stay anywhere else in LA again.
