Entirely Satisfactory A review of DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge
We visited Breckenridge for four (4) days at the end of July, 2003.
Before booking a hotel, we had looked at the reviews of previous travelers to the area. We decided that the Great Divide looked like it would meet our needs, and we weren't disappointed.
Although one of the reviews we read had said that overall lighting was poor, and we found that to be true, it was a very minor problem. Our room was huge and well appointed. We had expected a couple of queen-size beds but were pleasantly surprised to find two, very-comfortable, king beds. The rest oif the furniture in the room was oversized and made it very easy to stow away our things.
We were surprised to find that the room was not airconditioned, but the hotel did provide a couple of box fans, and the room was only slightly stuffy for a few hours in the late afternoon. Temperatures cooled off nicely at night and we slept comfortably.
The restaurant in the hotel was very good. Breakfast was delicious, and the pizza we had for dinner one night was huge and bubbling-hot.
The only real complaints we had iwere that the selection of TV channels was very limited and not kid-friendly enough for our son and the functioning of the ice machines located near the elevators can best be described as hit-or-miss.
Overall, a very nice hotel at a very good price.
