Enjoyed the Estrella A review of Viceroy Palm Springs

We stayed at the Estrella for 3 nights in February and quite liked it. Minor construction was still going on at that point but it wasn't a problem. Our room was lovely, although we had one of the few rooms without a balcony (don't recommend that as the windows don't open, but we got a cheap rate through Expedia so we didn't complain). Also, our room had a VERY tiny shower stall and you ladies can appreciate how hard it is to shave your legs in a set-up like that! If you can afford it, go for one of the higher-end rooms in the bungalows - they looked fabulous. The property is beautiful, with plentiful palm trees and orange & lemon trees scattered about. There are also three pools, so we were always able to find a quiet place to sun ourselves. Downtown Palm Springs is a dump, but it's a short drive to the nicer restaurants in Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert. We'd stay again because it was much more affordable than the high-priced resorts down the road and we didn't care about having lots of amenities on site.
