Enjoyed our stay at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel A review of Bar Harbor Grand Hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel in late May. We found the hotel to be a welcome respite from a Nor'easter which inundated the area with rain, wind, and cold temperatures during our four night stay.
We got great off-season rates at the newest hotel in Bar Harbor, which is a replica of those from a previous era, with all the modern ammenities. Their website (---) accurately reflects this hotel. Essentially, what you see on their website is what you get.
The entire staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful answering all our inquiries about the area's activities, restaurants, and shopping. (Acadia National Park is a must see!) Although a new hotel, housekeeping kept our room, as well as all the other areas of the hotel, impecably clean.
My wife enjoyed the Fitness Room which had more equipment than she expected. The heated pool and hot tub, which we did not use because of the inclement weather, are located to the rear of the property which affords some privacy.
Even though the hotel does not have oceanview rooms, it is only a short walk to downtown and the pier.
The free continental breakfast had an expanded assortment of cereals, muffins, bagels, juices, etc. and is stocked and kept clean by an attendant during the breakfast hours. Unlike the other post, we were not bothered by the plasticware and paper plates/ bowls.
We highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
