Embassy Suites, Alexandria, is a real deal for families. A review of Embassy Suites Alexandria-Old Town

If you plan to visit the Washington, DC area as a family, you can't do

better than staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel at Alexandria, VA. The

two-room suites include a living room with pull-out sofa, dining area,

wet bar with microwave and refrigerator, two TV's and are nicely

appointed. All rooms open onto a beautiful, spacious atrium with glass

elevators. There is a gift shop off the atrium. Room includes a full

breakfast buffet, including made-to-order items, for the whole family,

and a free cocktail hour in the evening. Convenient underground parking

is available. The Metro is directly across the street. Trains run

frequently, so you can go anywhere of interest in the DC area without

parking hassles. It's probably the cleanest, most efficient subway

system anywhere. There are shops, deli's and restaurants adjacent to

the hotel and Old Town Alexandria is within walking distance with it's

unique shops and restaurants. If you're arriving by air, the hotel is

only a short ride by cab or Metro from Reagan-Dulles Int'l. Airport.

Considering that you won't need to pay for a rental car, DC parking

fees, breakfasts for the family and cocktails for Mom and Dad, the cost

of staying at Embassy Suites, Alexandria, is a real deal.
