Economy hotel recommended for students A review of Oceanfront Resort
I recently stayed at the Best Western Oceanfront in Bal Harbour, FL from 1/4/04-1/9/04. The hotel is very average but clean. There were mostly college students and europeans staying at this hotel. The breakfast is the same everyday consisting of orange juice, coffee, milk and cereal, small bagels with cream cheese and some pastries. The living room in the suites are not very big but the bedroom is a good size. There was also a sleep sofa for two. The maids cleaned the rooms and changed the sheets everyday. We had a kitchen which consisted of a full range and oven, full size refrigerator, microwave and sink, along with utensils for 4 people. There were also pots and pans and coffee cups. The walls seemed thin. At night you could hear other peoples conversation in the room next door. There were two pools, one heated and one not. I didn't see anyone clean the pools the whole week I was there. Not many people swam in the pool. You could ask for as many extra towels as you needed, no one seemed to keep tabs on how many you used. There was a coin laundry for guests consisting of 2 dryers and 2 washers. The beach was nice and the water was beautiful. There was a Publix supermarket across the street if you needed to buy anything.
This hotel is about a 15 minute drive to Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road.
Overall I would recommend this hotel to students and families on a budget.
