Dream View A review of Harveys Lake Tahoe

Only stayed one weeknight, but hotel, staff, view, casino and room were really lovely. An otherwise good selection at the seafood buffet suffered from average flavor and lukewarm temperatures -- and some surly chefs (except for the very helpful fellow who answered questions at the pastry display on the right, after the woman at the pastry display on the left had been rude and unhelpful). And our hotel experience was marred by two things. First, we were awakened by nearby construction noise in the early morning. (But there's really nothing they can do about that.) Second, we were very surprised by an early morning, unannounced window cleaner hanging from a rope outside our bedroom window! We'd left the drapes open to be woken by the morning sun -- not by a man cleaning windows! When you check in, it would be prudent to ask whether any window cleaners will be making their rounds on the mornings you're staying there.
