Dragonfly - could be so much more A review of Hotel ZaZa Dallas
My husband and I went to eat a romantic and exotic dinner at Dragonfly in Hotel ZaZa. We were very excited to try this new treasure, but left a little disappointed. We arrived early for our reservation to have a cocktail in the lounge. It was so small that people were packed like sardines and it was so loud we couldn't even hear each other. It was a great age range for the crowd and lots of eye candy. The decor is absolutely fabulous - so refreshing to have a unique place in Dallas.
However, when we were seated for dinner - the restaurant is actually part of the lounge - UGH! So the intimate, sexy, romantic dinner we had planned went down the tubes - it was sooooo loud and the place was sooooo small - it could really be soooo much more. The food and drinks were a bit too pricey - drinks were great, but food was horrible. The wait staff was very friendly, but so unorganized - they weren't relaxed and calm - they were constantly running around in a chaotic manner. The pool bar area was pretty cool - great atmosphere, but again drinks at this bar were terrible and too many people to enjoy the surroundings.
We will definitely go back, but maybe on a midweek night. It could be much better with just a few tweaks.
